A Time of Healing and art

Art Refuge works in a women's refuge, where most of the women are victims of domestic violence. We use art to bring God's truth and hope, build up their self esteem and see them learn that they can make decisions and stand strong.

Last year, during 16 days of activism against gender violence, Art Refuge was honoured to be invited to be part of a healing day for a group of victims of domestic violence. It was a time to see God move, and healing come; to see transformation, a time of apology and blessing by a godly man. And at the end of this time we were able to lead the ladies in a time of expressing their new healing and freedom through art. They each made a mark, an expression on a canvas which will be a part of their history of change.

God continues to use creativity to bring change and healing, as His truths are also shared. Whatever your gifting, never doubt that God is preparing to use it in powerful ways - all you need to do is be prepared to listen and obey in His strength and grace.
